For decades the politics of the past have had a strong effect on the quality of life in South African townships. To improve the socio-economic circumstances within townships the post-apartheid the government sought to develop South Africa through multi-purpose community centres. Over the years, however, the government has failed to keep multi-purpose community centres resourced and running efficiently. Bottomline recently explored the work of the founder and members of Ikageng based NPO, Youth Invasion, that is making strides in effecting change for young people.
